Would you like to become a 'book angel' and sponsor a child in our class this year? There are several children I know would LOVE to have a new book from the Scholastic order, but don't have the resources to afford one. Can you think of a better way to say reading is important? If so, let me know and I will send you his/her wish to add to your online order. When the book arrives, I will say it's a gift from your family or not-it's your choice.
The count down is on! We're very lucky NOT to have to move this time so we'll be working right up to the last minute :)
The first quarter conferences on Monday will meet in the classroom not the media center as origionally planned. The Scholastic book orders are due the last week of September-place your orders online using the code to the left. Early release on Friday. Have a resful break with your family! We'll see you September 12th. This was a special week for us since we 'published' our first piece of writing! This means we looked closely at our worked and got it ready for others to read. Naturally, the children didn't catch everything, but the goal is to get a bit closer to readable writing with every publish. We will publish at least once per month.
I'm sending home the first Scholastic News. Please use the Scholastic button to order books. We earn free books for the class every time you place an order. Due date is always the last week of the month or 10 days before track out. This one will be due the last week in September. We have Lunch Bunch readers Monday, Wednesday and Friday...we need just one more reader so each child will have a turn once per week-it's just 30 minutes of your lunchtime. I know you've seen a new interest in rocks! We're acting as junior geologists with lots of burning questions! Please do send unusual rocks for our 'rock museum'. Have a nice week! Mrs. Z Dear Parents,
This year we're going to use a new tool to share what we're learning in class called Seesaw. Your child will have his or her own learning journal, and you can get notified when your child adds new items. It's completely private -- only you can see your child's journal outside of class. Click on app.seesaw.me/s/433-779-534 to sign up -- it takes just 30 seconds. Once you sign up, you can download the Seesaw Parent app for iPhone or Android, or access your child's journal on the web. Thanks! P.S. If you have more than one child using Seesaw, or have used Seesaw before, sign in and click on your profile icon > + Add Child to add this year's journal. OK |
