We've almost earned another reading celebrating! Please watch for an email announcing the date!!
The new fluency reading logs look great! This is a good time to pause and reflect on how your child sounds when reading-do you hear the punctuation? Is your child reading in phrases rather than word by word?
Social studies we've started a map unit. We are using maps to locate places in our neighborhoods and local community. Try a google map search (map view) of you home then find the route to Laurel Park. Talk about the directional words, and cardinal directions used to find your way. BONUS Print the map view with the highlighted route then bring it to school for our map board.
We've concluded our opinion writing unit and next week we'll begin a 'How To' unit. The children will learn how to write clear directions using describing words. We'll start with 'how to make a leaf rubbing.' PLEASE send a variety of firm freshly fallen leaves (nothing crunchy or crumbly) on Monday-big, small and different shapes work best.
Were in need of another bag of apples or clementine’s for our extra snack cabinet.
Thank you to Abigail's family for the headphones and 2 tablet covers!!! Please do remember to send personal headphones, if possible, in case of a critter outbreak:?
Have a fun weekend at Trunk or Treat!
